  • What is a Funeral Director?

A funeral director is involved in all aspects of planning a funeral. They provide guidance and consultation to family members, helping them make important decisions and navigate the funeral proceedings.

They will often work directly with families to understand their needs for an upcoming service.

This could include coordinating all aspects of the funeral, including the date, time, location, the service and hymns.

With us you will always get the same Funeral Director so they will be with you throughout the process.

You don’t need to have a hearse or a limousine, we can have the coffin in place at the crematorium for you or at the graveside and you don’t need a limousine if they are not needed.

  • Are there other options to a hearse?

There are other options, such as horse and carriage, a motorcycle hearse, but there are companies out there that do adapted vehicles that can be used as hearses. Please speak to your Funeral Director about any options you would like, and they can help you find the right option for you.

  • How many people can sit in a limousine?

To help you decide how many limousines you need our limousines hold 7 people.

  • Can you follow the hearse in your own car?

You can follow the hearse in your own car, our hearse driver will ensure they drive at a speed that the following cars can keep up with it.

  • Why do you walk in front of the hearse?

Walking in from the hearse is called paging. In the Victorian times when it was a horse drawn carriage the funeral director would walk in front to clear the street from street beggars and dwellers. These days it’s used as a mark of respect and to ensure any cars following have the chance and opportunity to catch up with the hearse.
